Interview with the Bride

Where did you two meet?

At SUU, my room-mate was friends with him. He came to visit her and promptly asked me out on a date!

How did Casey propose?

He didn’t really, it was more of a mutual decision than him proposing… I guess the decision was made when we were talking about marriage and all the anxiety we had had about it for so long. We came to the conclusion that we now had more confidence and love built up between us over the years than the fear we started with at the beginning of our relationship.

What was the most memorable part of the day?

Seeing him standing there down the aisle all nervous and beaming…

What advice would you give to brides-to-be who are reading this and planning their wedding?

Don’t be afraid to hire a wedding planner to help! It is totally worth it, especially when it comes to the day-of details!

Honeymoon?

Eventually (Probably in the Summer)! there is talk of New York, Scotland, Germany or the Caribbean…. Too many choices!

Anything you want to say to your husband?

Thanks for doing this brave thing with me:)Love you!

Natural History Museum of Utah | SLC UT

Over the Christmas break my family and I went to Rio Tinto’s, Natural History Museum of Utah. It was awesome! If you want a fun activity for the whole family you have to go here! They have dinosaur bones that were uncovered in Utah. It gave you a cold chill to know that these creatures, that could rip you apart, once lived where we live now. We weren’t sure if this museum was going to be fun for the kids but right from the get go we could tell that they had everything catered to kids. If it’s your first time going and you’re bringing young children I would make sure that everyone knew it was going to be an all day thing, bring extra money for the gift shop, pack a lunch that will stay good in the car, unless you want to pay for an overpriced lunch there, but you can for sure leave and then come back.  There’s also no eating in the museum and this means snacks for the kids too so you will need a lunch break. And bring a camera with high speed film. It’s super dark for photographs in there but there are too many things you’ll want to photograph to not bring your camera.

Conner’s Senior Portraits | Highland UT

Conner recently graduated from Lone Peak High School.  This guy is a stud!  We went to the park and we had so much fun!  I let Conner be his funny self and he didn’t disappoint.  He just recently got his mission call for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to serve the people of Argentina!!  I’m SOO excited for him and I know the rest of our ward is as well.  I know he’ll be an awesome missionary!  To view all the photos from Conners session and to order prints, go here. Kylee’s 1st Birthday Party | Saratoga Springs UT

As a continuation from this post, I was asked to come to Kylee’s 1st birthday party to document the festivities. This birthday was super special because it was Kylee’s birthday and her late grandpa’s birthday, Grandpa Corey.  He had passed away from cancer just a few weeks prior.  The whole family got together to celebrate and after singing “Happy Birthday,” eating cake and ice cream, and opening presents, the McBride Clan wrote notes to Grandpa Corey.  Then they tied their special messages to a balloon and let it go.  I think it was the start of a beautiful family tradition.

If you have a special event that you would like documented, give me a call.  I promise it’s so worth it having someone there to take pictures instead of trying to run the show and take pictures yourself.  Also to view all the photos from this event and to order pictures, go here.
