I first met Michael when he lived in Hawaii a few years ago when he served an LDS mission in our area. Missionaries not only preach the gospel but they are always looking for service opportunities. After meeting Michael the first time he asked if there was anything he could do for us. We jokingly said, “Tonie (the dog) needs a bath.” A couple days later he and his companion came back and gave our dog a bath! We, and I know Tonie was, so grateful. He and our family clicked and have kept in contact since then. Fast forward a few years and now the missionary with the most hideous ties is getting married! And his bride to be, Maegan, is the sweetest, most amazing woman for him! Throughout the engagement session they were making each other laugh, letting the world know how happy they were. Congratulations Michael and Maegan on your engagement! September 4th will be here sooner than you think!
And I think this tie redeemed him for all his other ties!

I am a huge soccer fan! Soccer and surfing are the two sports that I played growing up and although I don’t play either one anymore I still love to watch these sports any chance that I get. Well as most of the world knows the world cup is going on right now and we, being the hill billies we are, don’t have cable. I hurriedly got an antenna before the starting of the games but hey guess what I didn’t know? ABC doesn’t air games during weekdays, only weekends. So I was having to listen to the world cup on the computer because my internet company doesn’t works with ESPN3, yada, yada, yada… for the Semi final game I didn’t want to miss it so we packed up the family and headed to Applebee’s where we along with the entire restaurant were able to listen and watch the game on a clear screen with no static. It was so much fun to stretch out our meal to make it last for the entire game and to cheer and holler with other people besides myself. Because it’s just not fun to yell at the television by yourself. SO starting off…
