Drew’s Garden Party

Drew’s birthday was in July but I never got around to posting pictures.  So here we are a couple months late.

On Drew’s actual birthday we had cupcakes and had a little celebration with just our family.  Then with her friends and cousins we had a garden party in the back of my MIL’s house.  A perfect setting for a garden party!

I made books for each child and they went on a scavenger hunt to find leaves, flowers, grass anything they wanted to put in their books.

Then we planted seeds and much to my surprise a little while after they did start growing!

Since it was a garden party we had to have a dirt cake.  Drew was disgusted at first but after tasting it she didn’t think twice.

When I got everybody ready for this shot I had no idea why some of the kids were complaining and then they started crying.  Huge ants were crawling and biting some of them.  Oops!

This was such a fun summer time party!  Thanks everybody who helped, came, and celebrated Drew’s birthday with us!

Not letting go of summer!

This summer, when I was shooting a wedding in Salt Lake, I also was able to spend time with my family and my sister’s husband’s family.

The Bakker’s.  It rhymes with Focker’s.

Unfortunately my own family was still down in Cedar but here are some fun pictures of an amazing summer day I had this year that I had forgotten to share!

Above: My older sister Nikki.  Check out her amazing blog!  www.thesaltypineapple.blogspot.com.  You can thank me later!

Her son Collin.  He’s a HAM!

The food was AMAZING!!

Above: Nikki’s daughter Tess.  She’s a fiery princess!

Above: My sister Cherie.  She is 20 and single for all those young men out there!

Above: Mack’s, my sister Breana’s husband’s, 1st cousin once removed… or maybe his second cousin?  His cousin’s daughter!

Above: Me.  This is a first.  A picture of myself.

Below: My sister Breana.  If you’ve noticed a pattern here, I don’t have any brothers.

Above: Nikki’s son Davis.  This kid is SO smart!  I’m interested to see what he’s going to be when he grows up.

Above: Cherie and I were discussing strategies for an extreme game of volleyball.  This game was brutal!  It seemed like a nice family activity but it quickly turned into a serious full body contact sport.

Above Right: Mexican Coke.  You know how people have wine tasting parties.  We had a coke tasting party.  Mack’s dad bought Mexican coke for our bbq and I guess the difference is they use sugar cane for the sweetener.  I can’t say I’m a coke connoisseur enough to be able to tell the difference but it was good and I know my husband, Kurtis, would’ve been jealous.

Summer, you are leaving already and I feel like you just got here.
