Conner’s Senior Portraits | Highland UT

Conner recently graduated from Lone Peak High School.  This guy is a stud!  We went to the park and we had so much fun!  I let Conner be his funny self and he didn’t disappoint.  He just recently got his mission call for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to serve the people of Argentina!!  I’m SOO excited for him and I know the rest of our ward is as well.  I know he’ll be an awesome missionary!  To view all the photos from Conners session and to order prints, go here. If you are a senior or know somebody who is, call me for senior package details!

Kylee’s 1st Birthday Party | Saratoga Springs UT

As a continuation from this post, I was asked to come to Kylee’s 1st birthday party to document the festivities. This birthday was super special because it was Kylee’s birthday and her late grandpa’s birthday, Grandpa Corey.  He had passed away from cancer just a few weeks prior.  The whole family got together to celebrate and after singing “Happy Birthday,” eating cake and ice cream, and opening presents, the McBride Clan wrote notes to Grandpa Corey.  Then they tied their special messages to a balloon and let it go.  I think it was the start of a beautiful family tradition.

If you have a special event that you would like documented, give me a call.  I promise it’s so worth it having someone there to take pictures instead of trying to run the show and take pictures yourself.  Also to view all the photos from this event and to order pictures, go here.

McBride Family | Lindon UT

Where does the time go? We’ve all heard that question and we’ve all posed that question, but really, where does the time go?

Just last year I was photographing these cute little girls and the youngest, Kylee, wasn’t even mobile yet. Now, I had to pull out all the stops to get her attention. Kids really grow so fast. One thing all mothers can relate to is how fast their kids grow and that lurking fear of when their kids are big enough to be out of the house. That’s why I feel I can write these things and not even have to be related to this family.

When Kurt and I were first talking about kids, I calculated the ages our kids would be when they’d be out of the house. If we started at age X and I ended at age X, I would be X years old and we could live our life again, just the two of us. Before you hate my pre child self just as much as I do, please remember all the stupid assumptions you had and know that I was not only pre child, but also an immature 18 year old. Pretty much a child myself. Now, I can’t imagine Kurt and I by ourselves. How lonely that would be! The thought of this reminds me to live in the here and now.

Be grateful for the time and opportunity I have with my young family. Yes, things may seem easier when kids can dress themselves and get their own food to eat but will they still be asking you for kisses? Asking to hold your hand to cross the street? Maybe, maybe not. That’s probably why people love to be grandparents. They get the kisses and don’t have to worry about wiping butts.

We’ll be talking more about grandparents and seeing the McBride family again, Monday. In the meantime, leave a nice comment for them below.

Meryl + Ryan Wedding | Escalante UT

This was a freaking RAD wedding and Meryl and Ryan were awesome to work with!  The wedding took place in this hidden treasure, along a scenic red rock drive, called the Kiva Koffee House.  The reception was held at the Wild West Retreat, who also catered, and had the most delicious home cooked food complete with garden fresh tomatoes that they had just picked that morning.  Meryl did such an amazing job planning this wedding and put personal touches into every little detail.  They are such a lovely couple with amazing friends and family.  I’m so honored to have been a part of their day!  Also a HUGE thank you to my 2nd photographer, Anna with deMille photography!
