Light + Film | Highland UT

I love to look for light.  As a photographer you need to learn to see light like your camera does.  It takes a while to actually see it but I’m getting it more and more.  My favorite, in terms of light, is the one of Brody.  I actually just photographed a family session a few days ago at this spot in my house and not down stairs in my studio.  Where is it exactly?  In my kitchen.  I moved our table out and put my subjects right up against the wall.  It’s the perfect spot for light in evening but not so perfect for tall people.  The couple actually hit their head on our light fixture.  :(  Be checking back for the results of that session, soon!

Montero Family Portraits | Cedar City UT

I LOVE the Montero family!  I’ve photographed Kayla and Jon’s wedding, Malia’s newborn pictures, and her one year old pictures and now she’s two.  It’s amazing how attached I become to the families I photograph.  The Montero’s will be moving to Oregon soon and I’m seriously going to miss them!  Next year around this time I’ll just have to plan a trip up that way.  :)

This session was a part of my February Special.  Only $50 for the sitting fee.  You still have time to book.  Don’t wait!  To view the whole session and to order prints, go here.

Sneak Preview | Film

I went down to St. George and Cedar City last weekend to photograph four beautiful families.  My lab that develops my film usually takes twelve days to process it but they got it back to me in four!  I LOVE them!  So this week and next you’ll be seeing some awesome family sessions.  Can’t wait to share them with you.  Happy President’s Day people!

James + Mallory Engaged | Salt Lake City UT / Kaneohe Hawaii

Remember these beautiful Hawaii sessions I did not too long ago?  Well, Mallory had booked an engagement session when I was in Hawaii but her Fiancee, James, was called to work shortly before I came. The good thing was that James was from Idaho and had a sister in Utah and they were coming to visit her during the holidays.  We were lucky enough to reschedule the session and have it still work.  I love when things like this work out.

Mallory is definitely a Hawaii girl and cold is not our thing.  So we went to the Salt Lake public library for an indoor session.  But before we were fully done we bundled up and braved the cold for some fun outdoor shots.  Again I’m so happy we were still able to do this session.  I’m sooo excited for Mallory and James and for their future together.  Congratulations on your engagement you guys!
