Courtney

Courtney was in my photography II class this past semester.  We loved each other’s work so we did a photo shoot swap.  These are the pictures I took of her and I have yet to get my pictures taken.  Kind of scared if you ask me.  As comfortable as I am behind the camera, I’m just as nervous in front of it.  So we’ll see how that goes but for now, I hope you enjoyed Courtney’s sweet personality and the funny helping hand where we took the photos – the guy with the cow.

Beautiful Strangers | Highland UT

Easter Sunday there were a few people visiting our church and these three ladies just so happened to be some of them.  I leaned over to my mom in Sunday School and said how much I wanted to photograph them. All three of them are young, beautiful, and had a sense of style to them that I just had to capture. I usually talk myself out of asking people if I can photograph them, because that’s creeper status, but my mom encouraged me and helped me introduce myself. Lucky me, they were willing!  Meet, in order of appearance,: Marvelyne, Gabby, and Kennya. Then Mimose, who the girls were visiting, goes to the same church as us. The one of Gabby was taken on my large format, 4×5 camera, and made into an 11×14 fiber print. I used the print for my Photo II print critique. I received a 98/100!

Holga – Film Photography

My first roll of film in a LONG time.  All taken on a Holga.

Above: Double exposure, on purpose mind you.

Brody Boy! {Utah Portrait Photographer}

My little Brody boy starts preschool today.

I didn’t get emotional when Drew went to preschool and I don’t know why I’m doing it now.

Probably a mom and son thing, and the fact that he’s only 3.5.

But I know it’s going to be the best thing for him and that makes me happy.

He’s so excited!  We got him a Spiderman backpack which he’s already put to good use.

We had an IEP for him where we met his teacher and checked out his class.

He also gets to ride the school bus.  He is extremely excited for this.

But tomorrow I’ll take him to school, make him hold my hand (he hates holding hands), and squeeze him tight.  Then I’ll eventually let go and it will eventually get easier.

I love you Brody!
